Thank you for your help!  A new project launched and more convenient commercial drop off points were needed. Thank you to all businesses who didn't mind being involved!!!

The main drop off points were 3 YMCAs and 2 Boys & Girls Clubs (their teen programs)...The main supporters were V103, DJ Toomp, and Home Depot.

The general info below:

Atlanta teens collected Coats, Clothes, & Covers to benefit less fortunate but very deserving homeless teens. Covenant House of Georgia and other smaller teen-focused organizations were the main recipients of the collected items.

Partnering with the Villages at Carver Family YMCA to host a "Teen Celebration of Service"
went very well!  While the teens volunteers sorted and prepared the collected items for distribution,
music and food followed. This project provided up to 6 hours of community service for the teens participating!!

Covenant House GA was the main recipient of the collected items.  They are the only organization of its kind in Georgia and serve homeless kids every night between midnight and 8:00 AM According to CHGA, “Nearly 1 million homeless youth live on the street on any given day in America.”

“I think it is important for teens to have a more personal understanding of the extreme difficulties many of their peers face.  This is a project I believe will resonate with teens and one that will help prevent them from living life on the streets or perhaps do more to help teens who are currently homeless”, says Kimberly Wilson, Executive Director of FOR ME Inc., a local teen business education program and project manager for this campaign.

To all the teen volunteers that participated....you are thoroughly thanked!

They were registered as a “Teen Leader” and to do their part, they had to lead their peers in making a difference by collecting the requested items and delivering them to one of the many drop off locations or were asked to bring the items to the Villages at Carver Family YMCA. A maximum of 8 hours of community service was earned within this project!!

TEENS THANK YOU AGAIN FOR REGISTERING!
